Previous Rules We Have Not Used Correctly

You guys may have seen in the news feed that I mentioned we had put some rules in place in a previous season but had not followed up on them very well. They are listed below and were to apply from the start of season 5.

The reason they were not applied correctly was mainly my fault but time is always a killer when running these GW’s. As a side note if anyone wants to help me out….just let me know.

As you will see from that list and the latest Rules Draft for season 8 I am planning to introduce some of them to bring more variation into the GW so it hopefully will not become stale and boring. I just thought you might like to see where it all came from.

I have actually had a look through the teams and applied these rules and it is obvious that the original numbers would not have made much difference to the squads so I am adjusting them in the new proposal.

RULES WE DIDN’T ENFORCE

For season 6 maximum player rating will be 93.

From season 6 onwards there will be a limit of no more than 4 players rated 93+ in each squad and as always the sell before you buy rule will apply…

There will be further tuning-up to be done and some additional reward procedures as time progresses but this should get us through the next season or two.

A squad limit of 20 players rated 90 and above will be imposed

PLAYERS THAT YOU BUY

If you buy a player rated 89 and he moves to 90 during the season that is your good fortune when counting against the 20 player limit of 90+ players.
If an unbought player is 89 at the start of the season the rating he has AT THE TIME YOU BUY HIM WILL APPLY.

If a player is rated 92 in season five and his rating increases that is your good fortune when counting against player rating cap.
If an unbought player is 92 at the start of the season the rating he has AT THE TIME YOU BUY HIM WILL APPLY.

Other Stuff

At the end of season 5 extra squad spots for winning will be replaced by following formula.
Winner Div One – ability to buy 1 Level 94 player at PV unopposed
Runner Up Div One – 1 Level 93 player unopposed
Winner Cup – 1 Level 93 player unopposed
Winner Shield – 1 Level 93 player unopposed
Prizes will remain as they are and prize money will not be increased so it will be more difficult to afford top players.
Once selection of players for winners is complete the remaining Level 93 players can be bought
DURING SEASON 6 ALL SQUADS WILL NEED TO BE REDUCED TO A POINT WHERE THEY HAVE NO MORE THAN FOUR PLAYERS RATED 93 OR ABOVE.
At the end of season 6 – PLAYING SEASON 7
Winner Div One – ability to buy 1 Level 95 player at PV unopposed
Runner Up Div One – 1 Level 94 player unopposed
Winner Cup – 1 Level 94 player unopposed
Winner Shield – 1 Level 94 player unopposed
Once selection of players for winners is complete the remaining Level 94 players can be bought

  1. Not a fan of the 93+ players limit, most of us worked hard to get those players and probably gave up solid lower rated guys along the way to get them too

    I do however like a limit on 90+ players to try to prevent squad stacking

    1. I will go through the squads again and check some things….remember these were the rules set for two seasons back and would have been adjusted as the av ailable ratings increased

  2. Have already said in another post that I think the limit on 93+ is a good idea. Otherwise someone like Manchester City will never have a chance to progress and will be in the relegation zone every season. There simply aren’t the players to buy to improve them (or my Newcastle side). The only other option is to buy young talent and play the waiting game in the hope they get to 93 or whatever, and that could take years. Also, if you need a hand with any of the stuff for the GW, Gordon, just give me a shout.
